This memorable melody is adopted from Sholawat Badar (Badar Salawat) written by KH Ali Mansur Sidiq from the island of Java in Indonesia. Today, millions of people around the world sing this tune asking Allah to send His peace and blessings upon the final prophet for mankind - Muhammad pbuh.

Raef has interpreted this melody thru the lens of a western muslim, using instruments and a musical arrangement from the American South - thus calling it "Southern Salawat"
